The history of Design Institute
Giprosintez goes back to September 2, 1952 when the
design group under Moscow institute Giprochlor was
formed at the Stalingrad chemical plant.
In 1953 the group was upgraded to a
design team and on October 1, 1956 — to the
Stalingrad branch of the Union Institute Giprochlor.
In 1969 the branch was transferred to
the All-Union amalgamation Soyuzorgsintez and upgraded
to the Union Design Institute of Organic Synthesis
Production — Giprosintez.
In 1994 the Institute was transformed
into Open Joint Stock Company Design Institute of
Organic Synthesis Production The Institute specializes
in integral design of organic chemistry facilities,
based on the latest achievements of the leading
research institutions.
The Institute was the general
contractor in designing seven enterprises, providing
the balanced development of raw materials basis, full
processing of ready products, engineering support and
proportionate development of enterprise infrastructure.
Specialists of the Institute were
awarded ninety certificates for various inventions in
chemical technology and labor consuming processes
mechanization. Within the period of 1965—2005 the
Institute contributed to launching more than 100
production units.
The Presidium of the USSR Supreme
Soviet in its decree of June 30, 1982 awarded the
Institute for its contribution in developing large
chemical facilities and industrial complexes with the
Order of Labor Red Banner.

2005:
- — 119 specialists were
accorded state awards;
- — 3 specialists were
laureates of State prize;
- — 11 specialists were
laureates of USSR Council of Ministers prize;
- — 3 specialists were
awarded a degree of Honorary chemist of the USSR
and 11 specialists were awarded a degree of
Honorary chemists of the RF;
- — 32 specialists were
awarded a Distinguished Chemist Emblem;
- — 1 person was
awarded an Emblem for Valour during Chemical
Weapons Storage and Destruction.
